Just so everyone knows, I just got this e-mail: Dear Acenet Client, This email is to inform you of a maintanence window scheduled for July 6th between 12 AM EST and 2 AM EST. There will be an outage during this window while our network equipment is upgraded. The outage should not last more than 1 hour. The software for our networking equipment is being upgraded to ensure continued uptime and increased network stability. The maintenance is being done on the entire network, so while your site will be down, there is no risk of data loss or server instability. I don't usually go to bed until 2 AM anyways, so I should still be up when the server is back up. Sorry for any convenience during this time. Thanks. |

For the month of February, we only did 98 posts. We have NEVER done less than 100 posts in a month. This is all-time low. If NFF can't make 100 posts in a month (that's about 3 1/3 posts average everyday), there is something horrible wrong. I'm doing everything I can to update this board, but there is so much to do, that I can't do everything myself. I do NOT want to keep having this board doing this kind of activity. People don't post here because they look at the activity and leave, but that doesn't solve anything. That just makes it worse. In order for a board to thrive, there has to be members posting in it. You won't find a board that is as nicely run as this one, I can guarantee you that. Starting next month, I want to have a goal of 500 posts minimum for the month. I am also trying to give incentives for posting as well, anything to keep things going around here. I want to have the activity that other board bring in -- there's so reason why we can't do it. If there is a reason why, please tell me (and I should be inundated with PMs). And if I don't hear from anyone, it will then confirm my suspicions and we should get more activity right? Also, I'm looking for anyone experienced enough to help code some things on the board here. If you're interested, please let me know by PM. NFF is coming up on its 3-year anniversary and I want NFF to thrive like it's never done before. Can we do that, you guys? |

Good news people! I have renewed the domain for another year, so NFF is guaranteed to stay open another year.  Also the 3-Year anniversary is coming up as well so hopefully it will be pretty exciting around here. Let's make this place more active. On Wednesday, December 6th, 2006, NFF will holding its 1,000th day celebration. A few surprises will be had on that day (which will be left untold until then), but what I will tell you guys is that there will be a new scheme specially for this occasion including a new banner. I would like to see some mass participation in this event, so get all of your friends, relatives, dogs, fish, whoever together so that we can celebrate this. If you're busy every other day, that's fine. But I would like you guys to come to this, I think it will be a lot of fun. I will be making advertisements (indirectly) on all the other boards that I go to. I, myself, am looking forward to this event. |

Well, it seems like all we're getting is bots registering here on the board. So, I've implemented two policies: (1) a user must have a least 1 post within 10 days after registering (2) a user must have at least 5 views after 24 hours of registering. (Keep in mind that if a user registers on here, and never views anything after that, it is a bot and will be deleted.) This way I know who is registered here to post, and what are bots. Also, I will implemented a question system where you must answer a question before registering. Bots won't be able to get past that. |

I got this e-mail from my host today: Dear Valued Customer, We will be performing a server migration for all servers hosted with Acenet, Inc. We have new Data Center facilities and will be migrating all of our machines to the new physical location. We are trying to provide our clients with as much advanced notice of the migration as possible, but the exact outage time schedule is not available at this time. Your server is scheduled to move Sunday July 9th. We are anticipating roughly 1 hour of downtime per server during the migration. We will be sending out a second email on a server-by-server basis once a better time frame for the outage is known. Thank you for your understanding during this time. Our migration is in the interest of providing you with the best resources and facilites possible. We thank you for your patience. So yeah, just giving you guys the heads up on this. |

Right now I'm working on a couple of additions to the board, like a board graph that displays different messages depending on the posting being done in the last 24 hours. You guys will have to see for yourself what messages pop-up.  |

Right now, I'm trying to get my domain registration transferred over to my current hosting company. During such time, there may be a period where the site and board will be down for a while so that this may be worked out. If you see that the board/site is down, this is NOT because I shut it down myself. I assumed that my current registrar was going to renew my registration automatically, but that was not the case. Now I have to scramble around to make sure that the board and site are not shut down. This, unfortunately, may be unavoided.  |

It will stay like that for a period of 7 days after the new announcement is posted. (Manual settings only, not yet automatic) |

I'm going to be working on reverting the board back to 1.92 over the next few days. Here are the reasons why: (1) Things after 1.92 kind of went to pot as far as development goes. (2) According to a few other users, 1.92 is more secure now and offers support. (3) The features that don't work on here will definitely work in 1.92. Rest assured, I will get EVERYTHING moved to that version including users, posts, and features. |

Sorry about how the server was crawling along, hopefully things are back to way they were before. I was getting all kinds of errors yesterday and there was nothing I could do about it. The server seems find now. If you find any problems or sluggishness, please let me know. Thanks guys. I haven't gotten any e-mails on the performance of the servers though. I'll keep you posted. |
